The Five Principles of Reiki

Just for today, I will not worry.
Just for today, I will not anger.
Just for today, I will earn my living honestly.
Just for today, I will honor my parents, teachers and elders.
Just for today, I will show gratitude for everything.

Hello Camus,

Been reading some of your posts. Relaxing and pleasant to read to say the least...

About the Reiki stuff... like the principles they dont seem quite radically different from what a 'normal' way of 'good and honest' living should be... When I was reading background info on Reiki tough I was a little bit offset by the 'healing with hands' thing ( sorry for the lack of a better term I just read it in dutch and fail to find a correct translation ). I feel like it should be the mind over the matter that overcomes the problems and enables you to heal yourself ( to some point ), not the fact that someone is putting his hands on you...

But hey, thats just my way to look at it

Hi Ray,

Thanks for dropping by and leaving a note. :)

I understand your point. I believe that we should separate between the physical and the spiritual, between mind and matter, between the internal and external, etc, etc.

We just need to be aware which is primary and which is secondary. It's mind over matter and it's spiritual over physical because one is primary and the other is secondary. But to dispose the secondary and focus only on the primary would not be right as the need to be in harmony to compliment each other and create the perfect balance.

Thus the secondary physical aspects of using the hand to heal is important because it creates the perfect balance for the primary ki energy to function. Having said that, reiki also teaches the concept of remote healing when you are physically apart.

Glad that you shared your mind.

Peace!
