Just for today ...

1. Just for today, get plenty of sleep. This is
different for everyone. If you don't know how many hours you need, think back to those times you felt rested and how long you slept then.

2. Just for today, eat healthily. When running around, it's easy to fall into the habit of grabbing whatever's handy. Try to adjust the habit to grab fruits and veggies instead of heavy burgers. And remember, you can Reiki your food too!

3. Just for today, drink lots of water. Keeping ourselves hydrated keeps our bodies systems functioning and our energy levels up. Reiki that water for an extra boost.

4. Just for today, tackle one project at a time. Trying to do too much at once is overwhelming. If you're like me, nothing gets done when I'm overwhelmed. I sit on the couch and stare out the window. Making a list of what I need to accomplish keeps me on track and it reallly feels good to cross tasks off as their completed.

5. Just for today, take fifteen minutes to sit or lay quietly. Do nothing during this time. Send the monkey mind away as best you can. Put one hand on your heart and the other on your solar plexus and Reiki yourself.

6. Just for today, breathe. Breath is life. When we aren't breathing properly, our bodies become starved for oxygen and we tire easily. Take deep belly breaths and exhale slowly and fully.

The Meaning of Boredom

I've just realized this morning that boredom is our inability to appreciate that particular moment which we are going through.

In our blindness to the truth, we judged that moment to be boring when we compare it to other moments we've gone through in the past or other moments we expect to experience in the future.

The fact is, all moments are precious as life itself is precious because life is made up of every single moment that we go through. Each moment teaches us different things about our multi-faceted life, and each moment brings us different experiences for us to savor.

So appreciate each moment as they are presented, accept each single occasion as gems and never succumb to boredom, as we might miss out on some parts of our precious life.
